Rob Eckert began his career as a guitarist at the late age of 23, after serving in Vietnam for a year. This experience shaped him in ways he never anticipated, influencing not only his music but also his outlook on life. After returning home, Rob found solace in the strings of his guitar, using music to process his experiences. He immersed himself in learning and practicing, determined to find his voice in the vibrant music scene. During these early years of dedicated practice, he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of music theory and composition. In 1973, Rob’s dedication paid off when he received a degree in music from the University of California. This formal education provided him with the tools he needed to navigate the complexities of the music industry and further fueled his passion for creating meaningful art. In 1980 Rob created a successful music company called Omni Productions which became known for a performance schedule across the country, working closely with Hyatt Regency Hotels and in many cities throughout . Shortly after in 1984 Rob formed the jazz record label, Park Ave Records working, recording and playing with many world renown players such as Jeff Ballard, Paul Contos and John Abercrombie. As he faced the challenges of starting his career later than most, Rob drew inspiration from his past, channeling the emotions of his service into his songs. Each performance became a cathartic experience, resonating with audiences who connected with his powerful storytelling. Today Rob owns Ridge Rock Ranch in Western Wyoming where he enjoys the state of the art Nighthawk Studios and performs regularly.
